Age Secrets of Anders Behring Breivik

Anders Behring Breivik, the Norwegian shooter, turned 32 on 13 February 2011 when, according to the secrets of Age 32, 80, 128, he entered a year of social adventure.

At 32 he entered the Gemini-Sagittarius opposition year and was “energizing”. Opposition years are very difficult to negotiate and because his was an opposition between social change (communication) and ego change (personal development) it would typically express as a clash between what he’s saying and what he’s doing.

This year is one in which his ego was changing to one of total release, where everything hangs loose. For typical 32-year-olds it can be a total disaster, but for Breivik, who already had an over-inflated ego, this was always going to be the year where he felt ego-empowered to put into practice the diabolical social change he communicated in his manifesto.

For typical 32-year-olds, the clash between what you’re saying and what you’re doing ends up with foot in mouth malaise where the brain and mouth are diametrically opposed - meaning that even though your brain tells you that you've said enough your mouth won't shut up. There will be cognitive dissonance. There will be a fight between ego and social needs in this year of communicative personal development.

On one hand Breivik couldn't care two hoots about what people think of him, but on the other hand he knew that a civilized person interacts and communicates with others with decorum at all times. He knew that people would consider what he was planning to do, and actually carried out, the work of a monster – but he didn’t care.

At 32 Breivik was a free-spirit wanting to do his own thing, but in communicating with others he offended them. He believed that his superior intelligence and razor sharp thoughts on all matters needed to be communicated – hence the manifesto.

Because of foot in mouth malaise, he could not win this year and he should not have tried. Someone should have stopped him, but he deliberately isolated himself from friends. Had he known the secrets of his age, he would have known that when he felt tempted to run off at the mouth he should fill his mouth with something to eat instead or literally put a sock in it; and the same goes for doing anything that was ‘out of character’.

Generally, the 32nd year is one of associating with people very different from your normal milieu, and there is an irresistible desire to experiment, to take a risk and to shock. And shock he did.

Typically at 32 we befriend people from a different race, social class, age or culture, and while Breivik did not actually do this he most certainly was in touch with people from all over the world as suppliers of his deadly bomb components.

The chance to experiment, to rise about your inculcated prejudices, only comes twice in life - at 32 and 80 – and the risk for Breivik was that whatever social adventure he embarked upon that differed from everything he was brought up to believe, might become a commitment. Had he met a very unusual girl – rather than getting involved with the Knights Templar in a diabolic plot to annihilate those he saw as his enemies – his 32th year may have turned out differently.

The risk of commitment – of actually doing something rash – warranted the warning to think very carefully about getting too involved during this year of social adventure.

Consider the consequences. Your year of social adventure will pass, and with it your desire to experiment, but the people you experimented with may be still very much in your life, wanting to continue the adventure with you.

In Breivik’s case, the people he massacred in cold blood will most definitely haunt him – but not for a while. It will take 3 years before he will experience a social catharsis – a realization of what he has done; and then he will spend the next 12 years after that getting in touch with his emotions.
